a day of pleasant surprises.

Well today I had the joy of watching not one or two wrens hop about the yard but at least three. I know that when two of them, males I am presuming, weren't going at it full tilt with the verbal throw downs they were dog fighting all over the yard. Now, that was a show to see! Since we moved in there has always been one wren popping up now and then but to have at least three and a air show to boot. :)

It made me think about the wren's place in celtic lore that I have read. The plucky little trickster like character who uses his brains to win over brawn. I always did love a character who could find a way through a problem.

I'm taking this as a slight omen for the general lay of things for my household. We worry about what the future holds yet at the same time we keep taking steps as we can to make sure that our butts are covered in case of any form of emergency.

Now I am going to kick back and watch this storm roll in. It is already giving a nice light show. :D

Odd couples

Just a little mulling today as I kick around my weekly line up. Mondays I have Morigan and Freya slated. Tuesday is Tyr and Cernunnos. Wenesday is Odin and Dagda. Thursday right now is just Thor though I might start working with Lugh..... not sure yet. Friday is Brigid and Frigga.

The basic run down of what I do each day is a *short* meditation/devotional that consists of lighting a candle and saying thatnk you to them for three things I feel they have been doing. an example is "mother Morrigan and blessed (thinking about changing that doesn't seem to feel quite right) Freya, thank you for watching over me and my daughters, thank you for watching over my family, and thank you for watching over our safety."

Short sweet and too the point. that is pretty much me with my adaptable KISS (keep it simple silly) style. though i am feeling the urge to step things up some by personalising things a bit more for each deity involved.

I am going to have to poke some more at the book I have called 'A book of pagan prayer' by Ceisiwr Serith.

Also need to remember to get more tea light candles. Best bang for the buck since I can't really afford to do offering other then special occations. Maybe if I can get a good enough stash of herbs layed up I can make my own insence. :)

Begining

It seems that I need to find a way to keep my thoughts in order as I work through my DP.

Paper and pen hasn't been very friendly and being a solitary I figure getting other peoples thoughts is always a good idea. Talking has always helped me sift the puzzle pieces together before. What would it hurt to do so now?

Maybe this will help to motivate me to stay on course. ;)
